Opt Out of Targeted Advertising and “Sales or Sharing” of Personal Information

Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable local laws, you have the ability to opt out of the “sale” and “sharing" of personal information and/or “targeted advertising”. If you are located in a jurisdiction that grants you the right to opt out of “targeted advertising” and “sales or sharing” of your personal information, you will see a link called Your Privacy Choices located in the following locations:
- In the Privacy section of your account settings on the web.
- In the Privacy Settings section in New York Times mobile apps.
- At the bottom of nytimes.com web pages (please note, this link will not be available there if you have already opted out).
In any of the locations above you can follow these steps to opt out of targeted advertising and “sales or sharing” of your personal information:
- If you have a New York Times account, be sure to log into your account so your preferences are saved to your account.
- Select “Your Privacy Choices”
- Select Opt out on the Your Privacy Choices Page.
