Best practices to ensure you receive your newsletter:

Apple Mail

Add the email address the newsletter comes from to your contact list and/or add it to your VIP list by selecting the star icon to ensure you receive future newsletters. It might also be helpful to check your Mail Fetch settings to ensure your Mail app automatically refreshes email data.

Gmail

Add the email address the newsletter comes from to your contact list by hovering over the icon and selecting Add to contacts to ensure you receive future newsletters. If newsletters are being marked as spam or are delivered to a different Category, select Report not spam from the email or drag the newsletter to your primary inbox to move it.

Outlook

Add the email address the newsletter comes from to your Safe Senders list to ensure you receive future newsletters. If newsletters are arriving to your junk inbox, select Not Junk or Not Spam from the tool bar at the top of the email.

If you are being asked to log into your account repeatedly when viewing links in newsletters, we recommend the following:

  • Ensure your internet browser version is up to date
  • Accept Cookies on your browser to save your login information

Why Am I Not Receiving My Newsletter?

If you are not receiving your newsletter, we recommend the following:

Confirm that you are signed up for your newsletter

  1. Navigate to the Email and Settings section of your New York Times account
  2. Review the newsletters you’re signed up for in the Newsletter section

We may have stopped sending you the newsletter because we noticed you did not open it during the last few months. If this is the case, you would have received two emails notifying you that you would stop receiving your newsletter if you didn’t take action.

Check your Spam Folder and add The New York Times to your contacts

Sometimes your email provider won’t recognize The Times Newsletters and will mark them as spam. To avoid this take these steps:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder to see if your newsletters are showing up there.  If so, unmark the newsletter as spam, and you should receive your next newsletter in your inbox.
  2. Ensure nytdirect@nytimes.com, nyt@service.newyorktimes.com, and reply@service.newyorktimes.com are in your contacts list.

Check your inbox capacity

Your email inbox may be full, and thus preventing the delivery of your newsletter.

Some email clients (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, etc.) may limit the volume of emails that you can receive once your inbox is full. If your inbox is full, try deleting some old emails to free up space and you should be able to receive newsletters again.

Why Am I Receiving Duplicate Newsletters?

If you are receiving multiple copies of the same newsletter, you might be signed up with multiple email addresses.

The most common scenario is signing up for a newsletter using your Apple Sign in. If you picked the Sign in with Apple option and your Apple info isn't connected to your New York Times account, a second account is made using a private relay email.

To check if you signed up with your Apple details, look at the email address at the top of the extra newsletters. If it's a @privaterelay.appleid.com email, it means you accidentally signed up twice. Select Unsubscribe at the bottom of the newsletter to remove the duplicate email address from the mailing list.
