1. I received a digital access code — what do I get?

Redeeming a code gives you digital access to NYTimes.com content. Visit Digital Subscriptions for more information on the access provided in each package .

2. How do I redeem my code?

To redeem your code, use the link provided in the redemption email you received. You can also go to nytimes.com/redeemaccess and enter the access code provided in the email.

3. What is a digital access code?

Digital access codes are part of a promotional offer provided by the organization that gave you the code and The New York Times. Additional details about the benefits and terms for the code will be included in the offer.

4. Do I have to log in or create an account to redeem my code?

Yes. Your code grants digital access to a NYTimes.com account. During the redemption process you must either sign in or create an account.

5. I’m having trouble redeeming my code. What should I do?

If you receive an error when attempting to redeem your code, complete the following steps:

  • Verify you are logged in to a nytimes.com account (use an existing account or create a new one)
  • Verify the nytimes.com account you are logged into is not already associated with a New York Times subscription. You can do this by going to your Account page and looking under Subscription Details.

6. What should I do if I received a digital access code, but I am already a New York Times subscriber?

Existing digital or home delivery subscribers cannot redeem digital access codes. If you already have a subscription, you can give your code to someone else.

7. What happens if I lose my digital access code?

Please contact the organization that gave you the digital access code.

8. May I share my digital access code with someone else?

Yes. Codes can only be redeemed once — you can only give your code to a friend or family member if it hasn't already been redeemed.

9. Do I need to give my credit card information to redeem my code?

Not always. With some offers, you are only required to have a NYTimes.com account to redeem a code.  With other offers, you must have a NYTimes.com account and provide your payment details.

10. When does my digital access begin?

Your access begins as soon as you complete the code redemption process.

11. What happens when the digital access period ends?

You will no longer have unlimited access to the NYTimes.com website and apps that were included in your subscription. If you would like to regain unlimited access, you can purchase digital subscription.  If you signed up for an ongoing digital subscription when you redeemed your digital access code, your paid digital subscription will start immediately after your complimentary access period ends.

12. How long do I have to redeem a code?
