New York Times Cooking App

Learn how to set up and access The New York Times Cooking app on your device.

The New York Times Cooking app is available for download on iOS and Android devices.

All Access, Home Delivery, and Cooking subscribers have access to everything Cooking has to offer. If you are a non-subscriber or have a subscription that does not include Cooking (for example Games, Wirecutter, or The Athletic) you have limited access to the Cooking app.

Set Up

Once the app is downloaded on your device, you can Log in with your existing New York Times credentials or create an account.

If your subscription includes access to Cooking, you will have unlimited access to all features within the app.
If you do not have an active subscription that includes Cooking, your access on the app will be limited.

To confirm if your subscription includes Cooking, review the What’s Included section of your Subscription Overview in Account.

Navigation

The Cooking app has five main categories for navigation:

Home
Search
Recent
Recipe Box

Home

The Home section is dynamic, but will always feature a Recipe of the Day and a variety of other recipe collections.

Search

The Search section allows users to search recipes based on category, key word, and other filters. For more information, review Cooking Recipe Features in the Help Center.

Recent

The Recent section stores recipes you have recently viewed, making it easier to access them again or save them to your Recipe Box.

Recipe Box

The Recipe Box is a space to save and organize all of your favorite New York Times Cooking recipes. For more information, review Cooking Recipe Box in the Help Center.

If you do not have a New York Times Cooking subscription, you can subscribe directly in the Cooking app.

Once logged in, select Subscribe from the top of the Home section.

You can also navigate to the Settings (gear icon) section of the app, and select Subscribe from the Account options.
