Trouble Playing Audio in the App

Changes to your network connection, for example, switching from Wi-Fi to cellular data, may disrupt the progress of audio being played on your device. If you are unable to resume your episode or article, try force closing the app and reopening.

To listen offline or to avoid interruptions during playback, you can add episodes or articles to your Queue (if you have auto-download enabled) or Downloads. When you are done listening to downloaded episodes and articles in full, they are removed from your device.

Why is NYT Audio Using So Much Space?

Audio that you add to your Queue (if you have auto-download enabled) and/or Downloads are temporarily downloaded to your device. You can view your Storage Used in the Downloads section of the app Settings.

If you need to make space, you can remove items individually from your Downloads or Queue. To clear all of your storage, go to Settings > Downloads > Storage Used > Clear Storage.

Audio App for Android

At this time, The New York Times Audio app is only available on Apple iOS, however you can listen to Audio podcasts and episodes on Spotify.

If your subscription includes Audio, you can link your existing New York Times account to Spotify.

We are hopeful that we can bring this experience to Android in the future.
