The Athletic Newsletters

Learn more about The Athletic email newsletters including which newsletters The Athletic has to offer and how to troubleshoot issues that may arise. 

The Athletic offers a variety of email newsletters, including daily and weekly digests, breaking news, and team- or league-related updates.

You can subscribe and unsubscribe to The Athletic newsletters in your The Athletic Account:

  • On nytimes.com/athletic: select You in the top right corner of your page, and then Your Account
  • On The Athletic app: select Account in the bottom right corner of the app homepage, and then Email Preferences

Subscribe to marketing communications and other newsletters by checking off the box next to the title of the newsletter, or unsubscribe by unchecking the box.

Note: The Athletic newsletters are managed separately from New York Times newsletters. All management of The Athletic newsletters must take place in your account on The Athletic website or mobile app.

The Athletic newsletters include links to articles. In order to view these articles, you must be logged into your subscription to The Athletic.

If you are unable to view articles when you open the links, confirm that you are logged into the email address associated with your subscription, and that it includes The Athletic.

To confirm you’re subscribed to The Athletic: 

  1. Visit the Subscription overview section of your account.
  2. Confirm The Athletic is listed in the What’s included section.

If you are being asked to log into your account repeatedly when viewing links in newsletters, we recommend the following:

  • Ensure your internet browser version is up to date
  • Accept Cookies on your browser to save your login information
 
 

Why am I not receiving Newsletters?

If you are not receiving your newsletter, we recommend the following:

Confirm that you are signed up for your newsletter

  1. Navigate to the Email Preferences section of your account with The Athletic
  2. Review the newsletters you’re signed up for

Check your Spam Folder and add The Athletic to your contacts

Sometimes your email provider will not recognize The Athletic Newsletters and mark them as spam. To avoid this, take these steps:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder to see if your newsletters are showing up there. If so, unmark the newsletter as spam, and you should receive your next newsletter in your inbox.
  2. Ensure the email address TheAthletic@e1.theathletic.com is added to your contact list.
