Report a Newspaper Delivery Issue

Learn how to report a newspaper delivery issue in your New York Times account, such as missing or late newspapers.

Your options for reporting delivery issues will vary based on your delivery type: standard, next day, and mail delivery. To learn more, visit Newspaper Home Delivery Methods

You can report the following types of delivery issues, or newspaper delivery during a suspension, from the previous seven days using self-service options available in your account: 

  • Missing paper - Your newspaper was not delivered on the expected day.
  • Wet paper - Your newspaper was not properly protected from water damage.
  • Late paper - Your newspaper was not delivered within the estimated delivery time.
  • Missing section - Your newspaper was delivered with missing section(s).
  • Damaged paper - Your newspaper arrived damaged.
  • Other - You experienced another type of delivery problem. 

Delivery delays due to inclement weather will display in the Report an issue process.

Note: Depending on your subscription type, reporting delivery issues may not be available in your account page. If you need assistance reporting a newspaper delivery issue, select the Contact Customer Care button at the bottom of this page.

Report a Delivery Issue

If you are not logged into your New York Times account already, you will need to log in to Report an issue.

  1. Select Report an issue next to your Home Delivery subscriptionarrow pointing to report an issue button in account page
  2. Select the checkbox(es) next to the date(s) when the delivery problem(s) occurred.options to select when the delivery issue occurred

NOTE: You can report delivery problems from the last seven days in your account page. For delivery problems that occurred prior to the last seven days or within the last two weeks, pleaseselect the Contact Customer Care button at the bottom of this page.

  1. Select Continue.
  2. Select the option that best describes what went wrong with your delivery.options for what type of delivery issue is being reported, such as missing paper or late paper

Note: If the options do not describe the delivery problem you experienced, please select the Contact Customer Care button at the bottom of this page.

  1. Depending on the delivery issue reason selected and the time it is reported, you may be able to choose between receiving a credit or redelivery of the newspaper. Make a selection and select Report and Continue.
 
 

What Happens Next?

If you’ve selected redelivery of the newspaper, the delivery time will vary depending on area and the time of the delivery issue report. If delivery is not fulfilled by the next day, you can report the missed redelivery in your account.

If you’ve selected to receive a credit for a missed delivery, the credit will be applied to your next billing cycle. To learn more about your Home Delivery bill and invoices, please visit our Help Center article Understanding Your Bill.

When you report a delivery issue, the details you provide are sent to our delivery partners. Our partners review the complaint information and work with the local carrier to resolve the delivery issue. If repeat delivery issues are reported, our Customer Care team will work with our delivery partners to investigate the issue.
